I’m getting worse
I try hard not to be as commitment phobic as I am, but the universe keeps giving me reason to be.
Reason #4580969- I HATE COUPLES. Not because I’m jealous or think they are “cute.” Hanging out with couples is so fucking annoying. Being in a relationship turns people into assholes socially. Last night I spent time with two friends that I adore individually, but I don’t want to hang out with them together. Invariably some tension arises, every time. Someone mentions an ex-girlfriend and you see the shoulders tense up. She goes to the bar for a refill and he gets pissy because she didn’t bring him back another beer. Someone tells a story that embarrasses the other one, then you have to hear the “he always does this or that” to me whine the rest of the night. I think it might be even worse when, if they’re not fighting, they’re all kissy and touchy. No one wants to see that.
These two are far from the only ones. It happens around every couple I know. I just want to yell. I’m trying to have a good time on my Saturday night out and I really don’t give a crap about your petty relationship drama, nor do I want to discuss your deep levels of insecurity that brought this on. Most couples are perfectly willing to ruin simple fun for everyone by picking fights in public. The others keep it to themselves and save the fight for behind closed doors, but then both partners are tense and uneasy the whole night.
So yeah, if you can’t behave like a normal person around your mate/spouse/partner/significant other…. please don’t go out in group situations with them.
Thank you and have a nice day.
hahahahahahahahahahahhaha!!!!!!!! thats hilarious for a few reasons:
#1: the fact that its your reason#4580969. lol
#2: this seriously happens with EVERY couple that wants to hang out with friends together. kind of a nuisance.
#3: is i can picture that whole night being like that……AWKWARD!!
i love you!
